“Diamond” Dave Downey  :Lead guitarist

Dave was born and raised in southern Oregon. While growing up, he taught himself how to play guitar around the age of six, using his Dad’s acoustic guitar and country western fake books to learn chords.
Dave starting playing professionally at age sixteen, playing guitar in the local bars in Medford , Oregon with various top forty bands, the most successful called “357".
When he was 28, he moved to Arkansas, where he met Jim Dandy, lead singer for Black Oak Arkansas. Dave did the ‘89 - ‘90 North America tour with BOA, and was on the same circuit with such bands as Pat Travers, Head East, Foghat and Molly Hatchet.
After losing a record deal with BOA, Dave returned home to Oregon for a few months, then moved to Alaska in 1991 where he met his wife Susie. With a little coaxing, Susie persuaded him to pick up the guitar one more time. During a jam session at a local club in Juneau, he met Bobby Cole, who hired him to play lead guitar in the band Moses Kane.
Dave currently lives in Juneau, where he works as a sales manager for a local wholesale company. His hobbies include fishing, golf and music.
